In the phone call, he told his family that he doesn't know where he is, only that they took him down the stairs to a basement and that he was severely beaten. He also asked his family why they haven't put up his bail: "The agents here told me we have asked your family for bail and we are still waiting. This could be considered psychological torture because the Intelligence Ministry in Ahvaz refuses to answer the family. They just threaten them not to publicize the story. They also confiscated the phones of the family and blocked their Instagram access and put pressure on them. According to the report, the family initially wanted to hire a prominent attorney but the Intelligence Ministry office in Ahvaz denied him access to the case and said during the investigation phase there is no need for a lawyer. </reference> </coverage-outsourcing>
