Shervin Hajipour
Shervin Hajipour is a singer, songwriter, and composer. He is the singer of the viral song "Barayeh", which was released in the early days of the 2022 uprising. The song was used in protests and the production of artworks against the Islamic Republic.
The music video of "Barayeh" by Shervin Hajipour was inspired by the posts of Iranian users on Twitter. In the early days of the uprising of women, life, freedom, a spontaneous campaign was started in which Iranians began their tweets with the word "Barayeh (for)" and continued to write about suffering, discrimination and oppression in society. More precisely, by juxtaposing "for" and the current sufferings in the society, the users were reminding their audience of the reasons why people should be united in the street to bring fundamental change. The main point in the song "For" was that basically, most of the sufferings that were addressed in this music are things that are considered normal life in other countries, and the government of Iran has deprived the citizens of these natural rights due to its ideological and regressive view. Shervin Hajipour produced the song "Barayeh" by putting together the writings of people's sufferings, and this work of art became one of the most well-known protest songs in Iran. <symbol-timeline></symbol-timeline>
