  • <coverage-outsourcing id='12997'> Hassan Dehvari explained in a letter that he and Elias Ghalandarzehi were arrested for their family ties. He says that after he got arrested, he saw security forces attacking the houses "using bombs and RPGs and machine guns and grenades" with no regard for civilians' presence, including women and children. And one day, after the escape of the men who had taken shelter there, Elias and him and women and children were transferred to Zahedan Intelligence lockup. He writes that in the lockup he was threatened to rape his family members in front of his eyes and film it. He also says that he was tortured in various ways, including "lashes, cable wire, getting shocked while wearing an Iron helmet, and denailing," and he was once threatened with a drill that they would drill holes in his hands and feet. According to this letter published by "Human Rights Activists for Democracy in Iran," he was allowed to call his home to let his family know that he was alive after 60 days when he also found out that his wife and child were released. He writes that he was detained in solitary cells of Zahedan Intelligence jail for 91 days, then he was moved to the general population ward for three months and 10 days, then to solitary again for 21 days. He was forced to make two confessions in front of Cameras. Once when his family was detained in jail, and the second time when his family members visited him. The Intelligence agents had told him that if he refuses to confess to what they want in front of a camera, they will arrest his family members right there. He and Elias Ghalandarzehi were transferred to Zahedan Prison after seven months, and over the next 16 months, they were taken twice to branch 6 of the Revolutionary Court for interrogation (Mr. Shah Mohammadi). He writes that when they told interrogator Shah Mohammadi that their confessions were taken under torture, he ignored it. In December 2016, He and Elias Ghalandarzehi were tried in Zahedan court with Mohammad Marzieh and Hossein Khosravi. According to the letter, Mr.Marzieh told them that "I'm certain that you are both innocent," but "you are our hostages." If your relatives do not surrender themselves, "we will execute you in their place." In the end, he writes that after they received their sentence and objected to it, the case was referred to the supreme court of the country.
