Fazlorahman Kouhi

Fazlolrahman Kouhi is the Friday prayer Imam of Pashamag. He was arrested and sentenced to prison for objecting to the violent suppression of protests in November 2019.

He has always been critical of the Islamic Republic's participation in regional wars, violent and discriminatory internal policies of the Iranian government, and the distribution of weapons among the Baluch tribes by the IRGC. His arrest led to protests in several cities in Sistan and Baluchestan province, especially in Rask and Sarbaz, and some protesters were arrested and wounded. The province's internet and communications were also blocked for at least 20 days.
<symbol-timeline></symbol-timeline>

In its report, this affiliated news agency made a case and tied the religious activities of Mr. Fazlorahman Kouhi to the opposition movements against the Islamic Republic, and as usual, they did not provide any documents and proofs for this claim. Therefore, their claims are baseless." The statement continues: > Tasnim news agency, quoting the prosecutor of Mashhad, stated that the release of Mr. Fazlorahman was the result of the mediation of the elders of Sistan and Baluchistan because he was released before the end of his sentence, while Mr. Fazlolrahman was released in accordance with the law after serving a third of his sentence. He was released on parole and even that was done with a one-year delay. Of course, the good prayers of the Iranian nation have always been with this religious and social figure. Fazlorahman Kouhi's office has also written in this announcement that "Tasnim News Agency has reported on Fazlorahman Kouhi's "written pledge" in its report, while he himself repeatedly emphasized after his release that there is no pledge to remain silent regarding the demands and the trampled rights of the people of Iran, and said that if I had agreed to such pledge, I would have been released at the very beginning." The statement emphasized that "Tasnim news agency wrote in its report about the kindness of the authorities to Mr. Fazlorahman, and that he broke the norms after his release. It seems that this media and its masters expected Mr. Fazlorahman Kouhi to remain silent after the crime that took place in Zahedan's Friday prayer, the destruction of the Sunni prayer hall in Tehran, the massive arrest of the people of Zahedan, and the imposition of restrictions on prominent scholars, but this was not and is not the intention of this prominent figure.
