Osman Mameh, a citizen of Bukan, was shot by the security forces and arrested at the same time as the 2022 uprising. Despite the family's follow-up, none of the intelligence, security, and law enforcement agencies took responsibility for his arrest.

The murder of Mahsa Amini triggered a country-wide uprising in September 2022 in Iran. The protests were initially sporadical around the country and against the mandatory hijab.
