Mākān was arrested and tortured brutally after he helped a young woman run away from the security forces of the criminal Islamic Regime during the protests in Langrud.

• Mākān has since been brutally tortured in custody and interrogators broke his leg and hand, so that he confesses to the killing of a IRGC Basiji militia without any provided evidence. There has been reports that he signed the confession in fear of his life. There is growing concern about his well-being in prison and his possible death sentence.
