Leila Hosseinzadeh

Leila Hosseinzadeh is the former secretary of the student guild of Tehran University and a left-wing activist. In recent years she has been arrested several times for political and student guild activities. The medical examiner decided that she was incapable of serving her sentence due to her severe illness.

He wrote, quoting his sister, that they have committed medical fraud against her to deny her pain, disrupted her treatment, and even denied her one of her vital medications; her treatment and diagnosis are now fully controlled by the security forces. She also mentions the bad air conditioning and dirty food, lack of sanitary facilities, and hot water for women. She also mentions the notorious "cellar of Adel Abad Prison right under women's ward: > The four rooms in the corridor above it hear the screams coming from the cellar all day long.
