Arash Sadeghi

Arash Sadeghi is a philosophy student at Allameh University who was denied his right to education. He has been arrested several times and kept in solitary confinement for months. Sadeghi has received one of the heaviest sentences issued for the student movement activists in recent years

His grandfather (Shirollah Dargahi) published an open letter addressing Arash's interrogator regarding this issue. Mr. Dargahi was therefore arrested and kept in ward 209 of Evin Prison for a week. Shirollah Dargahi was then released with a 20 million toman bail. According to Arash, he was also released from Evin Prison on October 12th 2013. However, on September 2013, Mohseni Ejei (the spokesperson for the Judiciary) had already denied Arash Sadeghi's imprisonment. In the same month, his father told "Rooz" that due to all the pressure, he does not wish to speak up, and that Arash's grandfather had been forced to change his address. Despite all the news that his family was releasing about his arrest, the judiciary's denial created controversy surrounding the credibility of the facts of his imprisonment. </coverage-outsourcing>
