Mr. Sharifzadeh Ardakani stated that Mashallah Karami's indictment contains four accusations, two of which will be examined in the Karaj Revolutionary Court and two in the Nazarabad Criminal Court. According to him, the charges investigated by the Revolutionary Court are propaganda activities against the system and assembly and collusion with the intention of committing a crime against national security, and the charges of other cases of illegal property acquisition and money laundering have been recorded. • <coverage-outsourcing id='61365'> <reference source='https://persian.iranhumanrights.org/1403/01/father-of-executed-protester-in-iran-faces/'> The Iran Human Rights Campaign wrote in a report about Mashallah Karami's case that the "framing" process of Mashallah Karami began when the process of transferring public financial aid to Mr. Karami was carried out by different people, and this issue makes it possible for the judicial and security authorities to come up with allegation of money laundering and fraud against Mashallah Karami. According to this report, an important part of Mashallah Karami's case is aimed at finding evidence and documents that show that the source of part of the money received from abroad is the separatist and anti-government groups. This report says that the security and judicial authorities are trying to use fake narratives about Mashallah Karami's actions in communicating with other petitioner families as an example to accuse this community of collusion and propaganda against the regime. The findings of the Iran Human Rights Campaign show that the security authorities repeatedly tried to place other families of the victims of the nationwide uprising on the opposite side of Mashallah Karmi. As an example, the security and judicial authorities emphasize that in the statements of the defendants, it is stated that the father of another executed person complained that Mashallah Karami took large amounts of money and did not give it to them. Or that somewhere else in the case, it is claimed that Mashallah Kerami insisted on paying an amount to the family of one of the victims. The findings of the Iran Human Rights Campaign show that the actions taken by the defendants in the case regarding other claimant families and their relationship with Mashallah Karami were all aimed at helping other victims or claimant families. However, the security and judicial authorities consider Mashallah Karami's communication with other litigants, as well as the publication of his videos and images while performing tasks such as charity, to be a series of pre-planned actions with the intervention of foreign political forces. According to this report, the security authorities consider Mashallah Karami's actions to be a "financial facilitation of the rioters" and also "maintaining the enmity of the petitioner families with the regime". According to the findings of the Iran Human Rights Campaign, Mr. Karami has not accepted the claim of connection with a foreign country despite the pressures during the interrogations. Nevertheless, the security and judicial authorities need to prove the claim of connection with the foreign country in order to advance their plan. Therefore, the accused of the second tier is introduced as the guide and bridge of communication between Mashallah Karami and activists abroad. However, the security and judicial authorities insist that Mashallah Karami was aware of all the activities and actions of the second-tier accused, despite his denial. In this report, it is stated that according to the claims of the judicial and security officials, all the defendants in the case were aware of the origin of the money and knew that this money was obtained through "unlawful" means. In the following, it is stated that the authorities have cited statements and narrations to prove this issue, which show how the case was "made"; For example, three of the defendants in this case are members of a family, one of whom lives abroad, and the financial aid collected by Iranians abroad was sent to Mr. Karami's relatives through his family's bank accounts in Iran. The security officials claimed that the person living abroad was present in the gatherings of Iranians against the Islamic Republic and one of his family members in Iran spoke against the Islamic Republic in private messages. By proposing such arguments, the security and judicial authorities tried to connect Mashallah Karami with groups and political activists abroad. </reference> </coverage-outsourcing>

  • <coverage-outsourcing id='62796'> <reference source='https://tinyurl.com/5n8cdaxy'> Ali Sharifzadeh Ardakani, his lawyer, said in a conversation with Shargh newspaper: > The second branch of the Karaj Revolutionary Court sentenced Mr. Karami to 6 years in prison for charges of assembly and collusion (5 years) and propaganda against the system (1 year), which is the most severe punishment that can be enforced. We protested the verdict and the case was referred to Branch 12 of the Alborz Court of Appeal for review and opinion, but the outcome of this case has not yet been announced. The lawyers of all parties in this case have asked the appeals court to hold a face-to-face meeting with all parties. He continued: > In the preliminary stage, we wrote a comprehensive bill and emphasized that the behavior of Mr. Mashallah Karami is not compatible with the material and spiritual elements of the accusations of collusion and propaganda against the system. Mr. Karami finally distributed food offering, the necessary sums for which were also provided by people's donations and their good intentions. This evidence was also presented to the Revolutionary Court in detail, but it was ignored and perhaps, for this reason, we request the Court of Appeal to reconsider the case and the verdict to be issued by holding an in-person hearing while hearing our defenses. He announced the issuance of a warrant to seize Mashallah Karmi's property due to his security charges and said: > Revolutionary Court, citing Article 215 of the Islamic Penal Code and Article 148 of the Criminal Procedure Code, requested the seizure of Mr. Karmi's property, including a house in Takab city and a car. The aforementioned articles refer to the acquisition of property through committing a crime or the use of property in the course of committing a crime, while this property has no role in the accusations of collusion and propaganda against the system. Besides, a case has been filed regarding the same property in Branch 102 of Criminal Court No. 2 with charges of "accumulation of illegal property and money laundering. The trial for this charge was held in April, but the result and verdict of this court have not been announced yet. Therefore, the verdict of the Revolutionary Court is not consistent with the laws, and we hope that the Court of Appeal will pay special attention to this matter. He also said about the way of obtaining these properties by Mashallah Karami: > These properties were purchased through public donations. To help Mr. Karami, who was a manual laborer, people have donated these properties to him with good intentions. Mr. Karami currently has a sick child at home and his wife is also suffering from illness. Mr. Karami used to fulfill his family's needs through work and people have helped him with good intentions. The Revolutionary Court believes that these properties were acquired as a result of committing a crime, although this is not the case, and these properties have nothing to do with the charges against Mr. Karmi in his security case. </reference> </coverage-outsourcing>
