- <coverage-outsourcing id='49286'> <reference source='https://www.kampain.info/archive/72116.htm'> Behnaz Amani is suffering from uterine cancer and her disease worsened in prison and turned into advanced cancer (metastasis). The Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, while announcing this news, wrote that the arbitrary imprisonment of this university professor, according to her lawyer, Dr. Mahmoud Alizadeh Tabatabaei, actually took place after a hearing in November 2022, and the failure to issue and declare her arrest warrant by the investigator and the prison system was against all legal regulations, and it unfortunately caused a delay in the diagnosis of her disease and led to cancer metastasis. The Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners also wrote: > Ms. Amani's symptoms of cancer date back to before her kidnapping and 46-day imprisonment. During numerous visits to several doctors and gynecological surgeons, she had various tests done, including sampling. But before the results were confirmed, she was arrested and imprisoned for a long time. However, due to the disastrous health conditions of Gharchak prison, she refuses to tell the prison authorities and the interrogators about her illness, so that if an accident happens to her in the prison, like the one that happened to Mahsa Amini, the cause of the injury won't be attributed by the authorities to an underlying disease. </reference> </coverage-outsourcing>
