Mehdi Karroubi

Shiite cleric, Iranian reformist politician and Secretary General of the National Trust Party and two-term Chairman of the Iranian parliament. He was close to Ayatollah Khamenei and was imprisoned for years before the Revolution. Karroubi was one of the leaders of the Green Movement and has been under house arrest since 2011
