Kamel Ahmadi

Kamil Ahmadi (Mohammad Ahmadi) is a British-Iranian citizen who was born in Naqadeh. He is known as a social researcher. His research has focused mainly on child marriage, Child labor, female genital mutilation, temporary marriage, and the status of sexual and ethnic minorities in Iran.

His wife has repeatedly gone to the Branch One of the Interrogator’s Unit in Evin’s Prosecutor’s Office, but the authorities have done nothing to follow up on his demands. His wife said she didn’t know any reason for Mr. Ahmadi’s arrest and asserts that all his work had been published under the Culture Ministry's license. </coverage-outsourcing>

His wife told CHRI’s reporter the following: “In recent days, I have repeatedly gone to the prosecutor’s office to follow up on the case of my husband. From when Kamil was arrested, this is the second time that the interrogator allowed me to enter the room. But our request for our own lawyer was again decidedly rejected although the request for medical examination and for me meeting her remain unanswered.” </coverage-outsourcing>
