Saman Ghazzali

Saman Ghazzali is a journalist and environmental activist living in Mahabad. He has been arrested and sentenced to prison several times in the past years. He was arrested in the wave of arrests of activists, at the same time as the nationwide uprising in response to the murder of Mahsa Amini.

The national uprising of 2022 centered around the “woman, life, freedom” slogan was triggered in response to the murder of Mahsa (Zhina) Amini.
