He was arrested in Tehran alongside his three brothers and transferred to Ward 209 of Evin Prison after a few days of being tortured. According to reports, he was made to accept charges of "Bombing the deserts in the outskirts of Tehran" after his brothers were tortured in front of him. He was then transferred to Sanandaj Revolutionary Court where he was sentenced to 16 years in prison without the possibility of clemency.
