Iliad Rahmanipour
Iliad (Amir Mohammad) Rahmanipour, 17 years old, disappeared during the countrywide uprising in 2022, and his body was found a few days later. The authorities have claimed suicide is the cause of death but the family believes the suicide scenario is a coverup.
The national uprising of 2022 centered around the “woman, life, freedom” slogan was triggered in response to the murder of Mahsa (Zhina) Amini. The protests began sporadically in several cities and online space but in just a few days it spread to dozens of cities across Iran and the goal of the protesters changed to overthrowing the regime. <symbol-timeline></symbol-timeline>

His face was bruised and we think they had beaten him. She mentioned that Iliad wasn't a drinker and was very active online during the protests. Regarding a video that Iliad had sent his friend which was recorded in a very dark location telling his friend that he is going to kill himself, his aunt said the video is suspicious and it seemed like he was forced to say that because he kept saying he was nervous. His aunt who lives in the Netherlands says in her phone calls with family and friends in Iran she sensed that they are under pressure and the security agencies have forced them to stay silent. </reference> </coverage-outsourcing>
