According to IranWire, six days after three Baha’i citizens were arrested, Behnam Eskandarian was sent to the quarantine section of the Semnan prison. One of the prisoners there, thinking that Behnam Eskandarian is a person called Vahid who had murdered her mother joined another prison to beat him up badly. They took him back and forth a few times between the open air section and the cell and the beating continued for hours. Based on this report, guards and security forces were witnesses to the clash but didn’t do anything. The two prisoners forced Behnam Eskandarian to contact his family and ask for 20 million rials. “After a few hours, Behnam was sent to the prison clinic and, while suffering from blood and pain, was chained to the bed and pressured to confess that he wanted to committ suicide and that all his marks were self-inflicted and no one else had cuased them.” He was then returned to the intelligence detention house in Semnan. When the family found out, they requested medical treatment and examination but the deputy prosecutor, violating the article 51 of the penal code, said medical examination can only happen if requested by the prisoner. 75 days later, he was sent to the forensics for examination. Despite the delay, “the initial forensics report established 13 injury marks caused by two rounds of assault (one causing 10, the other 3) including breaking of head, black marks around the eye and, inflation of the ear. The internal ear had so much inflation that it couldn’t be examined. The forensics explicitly denied any self-infliction of injuries.” The intelligence ministry forces denied him from meeting his family or phone contact with them for a long time. According to IranWire, the case interrogator is Hojatolesalm Rame and those arrested have been deprived of legal representation from the time of arrest
