Milad Khoshkam

.Milad Khoshkam was from Shiraz. He was active during the 2022 national uprising. Shortly after the beginning of the uprising, Mr. Khoshkam disappeared and his disintegrated body was delivered to the family a few days later. He was 27 years old.

The national uprising of 2022 centered around the “woman, life, freedom” slogan was triggered in response to the murder of Mahsa (Zhina) Amini. The protests began sporadically in several cities and online space but in just a few days it spread to dozens of cities across Iran and the goal of the protesters changed to overthrowing the regime. <symbol-timeline></symbol-timeline>

A source close to the family said his body had disintegrated. The state forces told the family that Milad had committed suicide. They told the family that the incident occurred outside of Shiraz and he threw himself off a pedestrian overpass. However, a few days later, some state media reported a different cause of death. They said he had died in an accident. They claimed his body was unrecognizable and that was why the family was informed so late; but in addition to his cellphone, Mr. Khoshkam was carrying Id. The authorities told the family that they will only receive the body if they do not publicize the event. Due to the pressure and threats, the family had to wait until after the funeral to publicize the incident. According to a Radio Farda source, the morgue was forced to put suicide as the cause of death. </reference> </coverage-outsourcing>
