Bijan Rezaei
Bijan Rezaei is from Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad and lives in Shiraz. He was arrested and sentenced to prison for protesting the execution of Navid Afkari (a November 2019 protester).
Navid Afkari was sentenced to prison and death for participating in the August 2018 protests in Shiraz. Iran's judiciary has claimed that he committed murder during the protests. He was tortured during his interrogation process. <symbol-timeline></symbol-timeline>

He was sentenced to six years in prison by Judge Sadati for charges such as “disrupting public order through participation in street assembly and chanting”. After applying article 134 of the IPC, probably five years of this sentence would have been enforceable. He was arrested for protesting the execution of Navid Afkari (executed political prisoner) online and attending his funeral. Initially, Khosravani, the chairman of the 14th branch of investigation, accused him of “forming a group with the intent to disrupt national security, propaganda against the state,” and “disseminating lies with intent to agitate public opinion”. The interrogators tried to force him to confess in front of a camera. According to people close to him, they wanted Bijan Rezaei to say in front of the camera that he works for certain political groups. The interrogators physically tortured him many times and threatened to persecute his family.
