Pegah Fakhraei lives in Tehran. She was arrested and sentenced to prison during the national uprising in response to the murder of Mahsa Amini.

In addition, she was sentenced to two years ban from leaving the country, two years of exile from Tehran, two years ban on driving, and confiscation of her cellphone and her father's car. The video of girls escaping from the police van and helping injured protesters is provided as evidence against her.
